See exactly what you'll get back
A Landmark research transcript before you send us a file: speaker labels, timestamps, your choice of verbatim style, de-identification included free. Then test us on one short recording β no minimums, no hidden fees, from $1.99 per audio minute.
What a Landmark transcript looks like
Clean verbatim with the speaker-identification and timestamp add-ons, de-identified. This is how the Word and PDF versions read; the .txt and .srt versions carry the same content in their own layout.
[00:04:12]Interviewer:Can you walk me through what happens after an interview ends?
[00:04:17]Interviewee:I upload the recording the same day, and then itβs out of my hands until the transcript comes back. My colleague [NAME] at [UNIVERSITY] does the first pass of coding.
[00:04:31]Interviewer:And where does the coding happen?
[00:04:33]Interviewee:In NVivo, mostly. We keep the timestamps on so we can jump back to the audio when a passage is [inaudible 00:04:38] β when we canβt tell if someone is being sarcastic. [laughs]

Clean verbatim most common
I upload the recording the same day, and then itβs out of my hands until the transcript comes back.
Fillers, false starts, and repetitions removed. Meaning and wording preserved. Best for thematic analysis and reporting.
Full verbatim
So Iβ um, I upload the recording the same day, usually, and then itβsβ itβs out of my hands until the transcript comes back, you know.
Every utterance kept β βumβ, self-corrections, [laughs], [pause]. For discourse, conversation, and linguistic analysis.
What you can order with every transcript
Speaker identification (add-on)
Every turn labeled β Interviewer/Interviewee by default, or the names and roles you specify. An optional add-on priced with your quote; focus groups and 3+ speakers are handled under the Plus rate.
Timestamps (add-on)
On every speaker change or at fixed intervals you choose (every 30 seconds, every minute), so you can jump back to the recording while coding. An optional add-on priced with your quote.
Clean or full verbatim
Clean verbatim removes fillers and false starts for readability; full verbatim keeps every βumβ, repetition, and non-verbal cue for discourse and conversation analysis.
De-identification included
HIPAA Safe Harbor de-identification is included free with transcription β names, places, dates, and other identifiers replaced with consistent placeholders.
Formats that import cleanly
Word (.docx), PDF, plain text (.txt), or SRT subtitles. Word and text files import directly into NVivo, ATLAS.ti, Dedoose, and MAXQDA.
Notation you can trust
[inaudible 00:04:38] marks exactly where and how long; [crosstalk] and [laughs] are noted; nothing is guessed. Standard turnaround is 3β5 business days; rush is available for an additional charge.
